Air Filtration – Higgott-Kane offers a wide variety of filter houses and filters. Our
air filtration systems include barrier-type, and self-cleaning pulse
filters. Our custom designed filtration includes the following
components:
- Weather hood with bird
screens
- Clean air plenum
- Pneumatic system
- Complete support structure
Intake Air Cooling
improves gas turbine performance in warm weather applications. Cooled
air is more dense and increases mass flow and pressure ratio which
results in higher turbine power output and efficiency. The injection of
water into the warm air stream evaporates to provide cooling and
increases mass flow.
Evaporative Cooling –
Higgott-Kane can supply evaporative coolers for cooling of intake air.
Evaporative coolers employ a media at the filterhouse entry to hold
circulating water. Incoming air flows through the media and is cooled
by water evaporation.
Fog Cooling – Higgott-Kane can supply fog cooling systems. Fogging systems inject demineralized water into the air stream in fine droplets, which provide
cooling of the air through atomization of a fog cooling system)
In cold climates, ice
formation on the combustion air intake system filterhouse will cause
damage to the axial compressor.
Anti-icing - Higgott-Kane’s proprietary anti-icing system is designed to
ensure that the gas turbine engine is protected from icing during cold,
humid climatic conditions. Higgott-Kane’s unique anti-icing system
recovers heat from the engine exhaust gas to yield virtually zero loss
of engine performance.
